Conditions for Reservation, Downpayment and Security deposit
To reserve your apartment is simple: a down payment of 25 % of the total amount of the rent is required to block your property. Payments can be made either by bank transfer on a Brazilian account or in Europe (in local currency), or by credit card via Paypal ©*;
For bookings for the periods of the New Year and the Carnival, 100% of the total amount of the rent will be required.
The bookings are only taken into consideration the day when the down payment is received by WhereInRio, and a message of confirmation is then sent to the client.
The balance of the rent must be paid in cash (Brazilian Reais, Euro or Dollars) the day of the arrival (Check-in), or by bank transfer or by credit card via Paypal © (same system of commission as above-mentioned) at least five (5) working days before the date of arrival. Credit cards and Traveller Checks© are not accepted as means of payment in your arrival.
At the arrival ("check-in time") a security deposit will be asked to prevent against possible damages which can arise during the stay. The amount is previously informed and will be full redeemed at the time when the keys are rendered ("check-out time") if the accommodation is returned in good condition. The security deposit must be paid in cash (Brazilian Reais, Euro or Dollars).
*A 6 % commission in addition to the amount will have to be added
Arrival & Departure conditions
- The day of the arrival, a member of WhereInRio will wait for you in the apartment for the signing of the rental agreement, the handling of the keys, the payment of the rent's balance and proceed with the payment of the security deposit. Attention: Payments in cash made in foreign currencies will be exchanged at the day prevailing rate.
- The normal check-in time is at 3 p.m. Please, take note that we can organize your transfer by car from the airport until your apartment.
- The arrivals or the departures before 8 a.m. or after 8 p.m. will be charged R$50,00 (Fifty Brazilian Reais).
- The normal check-out time is fixed at 10 a.m. If the apartment has no been rented thereafter, WhereInRio may grant for free you a later check-out. It is however possible to guarantee a late check-out by paying a half-day supplementary rent.
- Normally, at the time of the check-in, a cleaning fee of R$80,00 (Eighty Brazilian Reais).- is charged in addition to the rent.
Cancellation policy
Paid amounts (down payment and balance of the rent) are not paid reimbursed in case of cancellation of the renting and it no matter what the reasons are.
However, in certain circumstances, you may have the possibility of changing the periods of your stay, according to availability.
Informations & General conditions
The tenant of the apartment will be responsible for all the problems which could arise in case of non compliance with the Brazilian and\or local laws as well as of the rental agreement which also includes the internal agreement of the rented property. If you are yourself involved in problems with the Brazilian police for use or ownership of drug or for any other illegal reasons in Brazil, we shall not be in a situation to assist you in any way. The owner of the apartment and WhereInRio will have no responsibility whatsoever and no obligation to assist you in such cases.
Motives for eviction: breach of the terms of the rental agreement as: more guests in the apartment that announced in the rental agreement, the excessive disturbance of the neighborhood, the organization of parties, sexual tourism, prostitution, negligence, drugs. The amounts of your rent and your security deposit will not be reimbursed according to the rental agreement.
